Zygos Olive Oil, a distinguished producer of extra virgin olive oil, has gained global recognition, evidenced by numerous awards, including double gold at IOOC Athena 2023. The company draws from a rich heritage, passing knowledge and traditions from generation to generation while implementing modern certification methods to ensure the highest quality of its products. The olive oil is produced from the unique variety of Chondroelia Artas fruits, compared to the well-known and highly valued Coratina variety (olive variety from Apulia). 1L of our oil is made from about 8-10kg of fruits. The fruits are handpicked and selected, processed in our mill within 4 hours. The green gold is stored in special steel tanks for several weeks and naturally filtered. If there is one thing we know for sure, it is the reason why our olive oil is of excellent quality -High in polyphenols - Health claim*.(Regulation (EU) No. 432/2012)
Location and Natural Conditions
Olive trees for Zygos and Julia olive oil are cultivated at an elevation of 325 meters, in a region characterized by over 300 sunny days a year, low humidity, and a dry climate. This is the ideal environment for the Conservolia (Chondroelia) variety, traditionally grown in the Arta region of Epirus, from which the olive oil is extracted.
