About Us
Our company was originally founded in Poland in 2001 as an IT business, but our true passion gradually led us in a completely different direction. Since 2013, we have been fully dedicated to developing the kreta24.pl project — a curated online store focused on premium food products from Greece. What started as a small idea has grown into a trusted platform with customers all over Europe and beyond.
Online-Only — and Proud of It
Kreta24 is an online-only specialty store. We do not operate a retail showroom, we do not pay city-centre rent, and we do not pass those costs on to you. This single decision is what makes our pricing model possible: premium, lab-tested, sommelier-curated products at prices comparable to ordinary supermarket olive oil. Every euro we save on overhead, we invest back into product quality — direct sourcing, independent lab analysis, careful storage, and protective packaging. Fewer middlemen, more olive oil.
We Ship Worldwide
We ship to customers across the European Union and worldwide — from Berlin to Boston, from Dublin to Dubai. Orders are dispatched directly from our warehouse in Gliwice, Poland, with full customs documentation for non-EU destinations. Check our global shipping map to see where our customers are.
One important exception: certain product categories — most notably wines and other alcoholic beverages — are subject to Polish excise duty regulations and licensing restrictions. For this reason, alcoholic products can only be sold and delivered within Poland. If you see a wine, raki or tsipouro listed in our catalogue and you are based outside Poland, that product is unfortunately not available for shipment to your country. Everything else — olive oil, honey, herbs, mastiha, cosmetics, halva, tahini and the rest of our pantry — ships worldwide.
Over the years, we have built close, personal relationships with carefully selected producers from almost every region of Greece — from Crete and the Peloponnese to Lesbos, Thassos and northern Greece. We personally visit olive groves, mills and family-run workshops to select the finest products. For us, quality matters far more than quantity: each product we offer must meet our strict standards of authenticity, freshness and traceability — and every olive oil in our catalogue is backed by an independent laboratory report (NMR or HPLC).
Curated by a Certified Olive Oil Sommelier
Kreta24's olive oil selection is curated by a certified olive oil sommelier, trained at the Greek Olive Oil Academy (GOOA) in Berlin. This is not a marketing claim — it means every oil we list has been formally evaluated against the methodology of the International Olive Council (COI): blind tasting, sensory profiling for positive attributes (fruity, bitter, pungent) and the absence of defects (fusty, musty, rancid, winey). When we say an oil is "the best at what it does", we mean it has been compared side-by-side with the rest of the harvest and the rest of the category. Why Greece — and Why Crete
We openly admit that we are passionate lovers of Hellenic culture and admirers of everything Greek. We have a special affection for the queen of the Greek islands — Crete, which has become our second home: a peaceful haven full of charm and history, to which we return every year. We make friends, explore hidden villages, hike the mountains and discover new traditional tastes. As enthusiasts of a healthy lifestyle, we take genuine joy in sharing the Cretan Mediterranean diet with our customers — one of the most thoroughly studied dietary patterns in the world, associated with longevity, lower rates of cardiovascular disease and vibrant, uncomplicated flavor.
What We Bring You
Thanks to direct cooperation with producers, we offer award-winning extra virgin olive oils, rare Greek honeys, mountain herbs, Chios mastiha and other delicacies that are not available in mainstream distribution. Many of our olive oils come from small family estates and have won gold medals in international competitions such as NYIOOC, Athena, Mario Solinas, EVOOLEUM and BIOL. We also import a small, hand-picked selection of COOC-certified Californian olive oils and organic Tuscan EVOO, fully customs-cleared for the EU market.
