Description
Eliama Daily Value Gold – Extra Virgin Olive Oil with High Polyphenol Content (250 ml)
Olive harvest and production process
Eliama Daily Value Gold is a high-quality extra virgin olive oil produced from very early harvested, hand-picked, unripe Koroneiki olives. Harvesting begins as early as October, which allows for a naturally high concentration of bioactive compounds characteristic of early pressed olive oils.
The olives are cold-pressed no later than 4 hours after harvesting, under strictly controlled technological conditions, without the use of chemicals and without refining. It takes about 35 kg of olives to produce 1 litre of Eliama Daily Value Gold olive oil, which means a significantly lower yield compared to standard extra virgin olive oils.
After extraction, the oil is stored at 12-15°C in stainless steel tanks, protected with nitrogen, which limits contact with oxygen and protects sensitive phenolic compounds.
Packaging and quality protection
The oil is bottled in specially designed dark glass bottles, certified by Estal, which provide double protection against light. The space under the cap is filled with nitrogen, which further minimises oxidation processes and allows the product to remain stable and fresh throughout its shelf life.
Biochemical profile and active ingredients
Eliama Daily Value Gold is characterised by a high content of natural olive oil polyphenols, including oleocanthal and oleacein, which are responsible for its intense, dry sensory profile and antioxidant properties. The oil also contains natural vitamin E (α-tocopherol), which protects against oxidative stress.
Clinical trials and dietary use
Eliama Daily Value Gold olive oil is involved in numerous research projects and clinical trials on the effects of very early olive oils with a high polyphenol content on cognitive function, neuropsychological parameters and inflammatory markers.
One of the key projects is a prospective clinical trial conducted on a group of 150 patients with primary and secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS and SPMS), carried out in scientific collaboration with the University of Cyprus in Nicosia, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and academic centres in Greece. In the studies, olive oil is used as part of the daily diet, and its effect is assessed through cognitive tests, evaluation of neurological functions and analysis of selected laboratory markers, among other things.
