Description
Olive tree leaves for infusion — a unique product from certified organic olive groves in Serres, in Greek Macedonia. Only the leaves of two carefully selected varieties are used in production: Petroelia Serres — a local variety characteristic of the Serres region — and Koroneiki, one of the most aromatic Greek olive varieties.
Olive tree leaves are a natural treasure trove of polyphenols, including oleuropein — one of the most powerful natural antioxidants. It is this compound that is responsible for the infusion’s characteristic, slightly bitter and herbal flavour, as well as its exceptional health-promoting properties, valued in Mediterranean tradition for thousands of years. Regular consumption of olive leaf infusion supports the body’s natural immunity and has a protective effect on the cardiovascular system.
The leaves come from the same organic groves that produce the famous Poteus olive oils — some of the world’s richest in polyphenols, and repeatedly certified and award-winning.
Preparation
Place the leaves in an infuser or directly into a mug. Pour over hot water (around 90°C) and steep for 4–5 minutes. Strain and serve. The infusion has a delicate, herbal character with a subtle bitterness and a slightly floral aftertaste.
