AEONS – Greek organic olives in brine

AEONS is a Greek brand of organic products; its olives come from certified organic farms and are packed in a brine solution, without preservatives. The range comprises four varieties: Kalamata olives, green olives, pitted green olives and a mix of olives with oregano. All are packed in glass jars, which allow you to see the product before purchase and keep the olives well preserved once opened.

Certified organic farming

AEONS olives hold an organic certificate issued by the Greek certification body BIO Hellas (GR-BIO-03). This means they come from groves managed without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, and the entire process – from harvesting to packaging – is subject to inspection in accordance with EU regulations on organic farming. The producer, ENIA FOODS from Larissa in Thessaly, also holds FSSC 22000 food safety certification.

Kalamata olives

The most famous Greek table olives – elongated, dark purple, with a fleshy pulp and a distinctive, slightly winey flavour. Perfect for Greek salad, tapenade, sandwich spreads and as an accompaniment to pasta dishes and roasted vegetables.

Green olives

Harvested before they are fully ripe, which means they retain their firm texture and fresh, slightly tangy flavour. They make a great snack to accompany wine, an ingredient in a platter of appetisers, and an accompaniment to fish and poultry dishes.

Pitted green olives

The same variety of green olives, but pitted – ready to slice and use straight away in the kitchen. Convenient for salads, pizzas, bakes and stuffings, as well as for children.

Olive mix with oregano

A combination of green and Kalamata olives with the addition of Greek oregano. The herb brings out the natural flavour of the olives and gives the brine an aromatic, Mediterranean character. Perfect as a snack on its own or as part of a meze platter.

How to store

Before opening, store the jar in a cool, dry place, away from light. Once opened, the olives should remain submerged in the brine; keep the jar in the fridge and use within a few weeks.
