Greco sage (salvia officinalis) 40g ORGANIC
Description
Sage is an endemic Mediterranean plant, known to the Greeks since ancient times. Due to its tonic properties, the ancient Greeks believed it to be a symbol of immortality, which is why it was dedicated to Zeus.
This variety is characterised by its fresh aroma and white fibres covering the leaves and petals.
The package contains whole leaves of the plant, which have been harvested and selected by hand from organic crops.
In Greece, sage comes in three medicinal varieties: Salvia officinalis, Salvia triloba and Salvia fruticosa.
Application:
- A stimulating and toning plant, it strengthens blood circulation. It regulates blood pressure in people with low blood pressure.
- Sage leaf infusion has antibacterial, antifungal, disinfectant, anti-inflammatory, tonic and anticonvulsant properties and inhibits perspiration.
- It is used externally as a compress for wounds and in the treatment of colds, sore throats, intestinal inflammation and various types of bites.
- Thanks to the phytoestrogens it contains, it helps regulate painful, heavy periods, affects abnormal blood flow, and during menopause, it alleviates hot flushes and night sweats
Avoid consumption by people with high blood pressure.
Preparation: Place a few sage leaves in a cup and pour hot water over them. Steep, covered, for about 10 minutes. A pleasant, strong and invigorating aroma is a sign that the sage is ready to drink
