PROPERTIES
INTERNAL USE: Antispasmodic, carminative, stomachic (helps gastric digestion of food), choleretic (stimulates the elimination of bile from the gallbladder), overall antiseptic, expectorant.
EXTERNAL USE: Antiseptic, antipruritic, refreshing, nasal decongestant, local anesthetic and mosquito and lice repellent.

INDICATIONS
INTERNAL USE: Digestive disorders (digestive sluggishness, eructation, flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, gastrointestinal spasms, fetid breath, liver disorders, intestinal parasites, etc.). Fatigue. Painful menstruation. Migraines and headaches.
EXTERNAL USE: Joint pain and rheumatism, bruises, painful and heavy legs, tired or sore feet. Burns, sores, gum and toothaches, urticaria, acne, oily skin, insect bites. Cellulite. Migraines. Diseases of the respiratory tract (sinusitis, bronchitis, colds and flu).

DOSAGE AND INSTRUCTIONS
INTERNAL USE: 2-3 drops, 2-3 times a day, in a teaspoon of honey, a brown sugar cube or an infusion.
EXTERNAL USE: Apply the essence diluted or directly on the affected part. In case of toothache, place a drop on the part causing the pain or do mouthwashes. In inhalations for respiratory disorders. In compresses or baths for tired legs. Foot baths.

COUNTERINDICATIONS
Not recommended in case of allergy or hypersensitivity to essential oil or to any of its components.
In case of hiatal hernia and gastroesophageal reflux.
Not recommended during pregnancy, lactation, or in children under six years (inhalation of menthol can cause a cardiac depressant action and spasms of the larynx and bronchial tubes), and in patients with epilepsy, Parkinson's or other neurological diseases.

REMARKS
It should be used with caution in people with hepatic and gallbladder (biliary lithiasis) disorders and in favism which is a disease caused by deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) that causes hemolytic anemia (menthol requires this enzyme for metabolism).

CURIOSITIES
