Description
Spearmint is one of the traditional plants used to make a relaxing infusion with a pleasant aroma.
It differs significantly from the popular peppermint in taste and appearance of the leaves.
It has been known since ancient times for its pleasant scent and blue flowers:
Pluto, god of the underworld (Hades), fell in love with the nymph Menthe. This caused his wife, Persephone, to become extremely jealous. She turned the nymph into a plant. Pluto did not have the power to restore Menthe to her former form. He decided to give her a beautiful and fresh scent that emanated from her leaves. This is how mint came into being.
