Kali Extra Virgin Olive Oil Semidiana PGI Tuscany
KALI offers certified organic Extra Virgin Toscano PGI olive oil, obtained from the Semidiana variety. The parent plant was observed and monitored for several years, and its clones showed very good characteristics in terms of productivity, adaptability and the quality of the oil obtained. The trees are characterised by a spherical crown of medium-high density, good resistance to environmental factors and stable yields.
Oil from the Semidiana variety is characterised by medium intensity fruitiness (5.1), with a distinct, clean bitterness (5.3) and pungency (5.3). The profile is green, fresh and harmonious, with dominant notes of grass, herbs and green tomato. Semidiana is sometimes described as "red" in sensory terms, as it has a distinct tomato character (tomato leaf: 3.3), typical of this variety.
Acidity level below 0.22%. The olives are harvested by hand as part of a sustainable and certified organic farming cycle. Cold pressing takes place directly on the farm, using the MORI-TEM Cultivar line, within a maximum of three hours of harvesting.
The oil is characterised by a high content of natural polyphenols, meeting the requirements of EU Regulation 432/2012. The polyphenols contained in olive oil contribute to the protection of blood lipids against oxidative stress. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of oil.
