Tofillo Diktamo (dittany of Crete) from Crete, 22g

Dictamo, or Cretan rockrose, is one of the most highly prized medicinal plants in the Mediterranean region. Its valuable medicinal properties were already known to the ancients. This plant was successfully used as an antibacterial and antifungal agent, a painkiller, and to treat rheumatism, gastric problems, as a wound dressing and for many other purposes. Cretan dictamnus is excellent in the kitchen, particularly when combined with olive oil, bread or dairy products. The leaves, roots or flowers are used as the raw material, as appropriate. In the wild, dictamnus grows in hard-to-reach, rocky areas.

Preparation: 1 tablespoon of herbs to 200ml of water at 90°C; steep, covered, for approx. 5 mins. Also good served cold with ice (in which case, use an infusion made from 5–6 stems)

Store in a dry, cool and dark place. Warning! Herbs should be consumed with caution, particularly by pregnant or breastfeeding women
